NJAEOP Professional Development Program (PDP)

NJAEOP Certification

 In 1965, the NJAEOP Educational program was launched with relevant adult education courses open to members in many schools throughout the state.  Now, the NJAEOP
 PDP has promoted college level courses of particular interest to educational office personnel.  The first PDP certificates were awarded in November 1976, at the NJAEOP
 Convention in Atlantic City.

 The PDP is served by a distinguished Advisory Board (see below) whose members represent important segments of the educational community.  This voluntary program
 provides for three options for eligible educational office personnel.

PDP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

 *Membership in NJAEOP for TWO (2) Consecutive Years.

    OPTION I    A certificate is available upon successful completion of THREE (3)  MANDATED college courses or an Educational Office Specialist certification:

1. Foundations of Education or Introduction to Education (3 credits)

2. Business Communications (3 credits) or Technical Writing (3 credits) or Technical Communication

3. Computer Application (3 credits) such as Introduction to Data Processing or a combination of courses such as Lotus 1-2-3, Windows, WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, etc. adding up to 3 credits.
    

AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $15.00

    OPTION II   A certificate is available upon successful completion of THIRTY (30) college credits which MUST include FIVE (5) MANDATED   courses (the three (3)
    above PLUS):

    4.  School Law or Education Law (3 credits)
    5.  Psychology of Human Relations (3 credits) or Introduction to Sociology (3 credits) or Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)

AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $25.00 (OR AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 FEE IF OPTION I HAS ALREADY BEEN RECOGNIZED.)

    OPTION III  A certificate is available upon completion of an Associate Degree or a minimum of Sixty (60)  college credits including the above five mandated courses.

AND A NON-REFUNDABLE REGISTRATION FEE OF $35.00.  (OR AN ADDITIONAL $10 FEE IF OPTION I AND II HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED, OR AN ADDITIONAL $20.00 FEE IF ONLY OPTION I HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED.)

 *Effective May 1, 1992, a seven (7) year time limit has been established for the evaluation of a course substitution for any of the five mandated course requirements.

 *Official transcripts of completed courses MUST BE submitted to the PDP Registrar by September 1, 2019 to have a certificate available at the November annual meeting.
